Booster Shots Are Driving A Surge In Covid Cases Among NBA Players

The NBA is experiencing a surge in players testing positive for covid. What the media isn’t reporting on is that the surge in players getting sick is because booster shots were recently made mandatory on many NBA teams.

Earlier this month the NBA mandated that any player that did not receive a booster shot by December 17 would be subjected to game-day rapid tests. In addition, any team personnel who haven’t received their booster by December 17 are no longer permitted to interact with players or continue as Tier 1 employees. Tier 1 employees are anyone who interact within 15 feet of players on a regular basis and includes coaches and referees.

A key point is that this deadline of December 17 was set on December 3. So between December 3 and December 17 the majority of NBA players received their booster.

The booster shots being given to NBA players have driven a massive increase in players testing positive for covid and being required to enter the NBA Health and Safety Protocol, which now includes 52 players and 19 staff members, including 22 players on Wednesday and Thursday alone.

It’s no secret that every new ‘variant’ is caused by the vaccine, and there is a direct correlation between the NBA players testing positive for covid, just as they all were forced to get the covid booster vaccine.
